A bundle is a collection of macros, commands, snippets, drag commands, templates, preferences, and syntaxes.
All but the last can be created inside TextMate using the bundle editor, though several of them have their own help page also (though might be slightly out of date). With regard to syntaxes, which does the actual colorization of the syntax, there is a help page on how to define these.
TextMate puts a UUID in each bundle item it creates/sees plus the info.plist stored in the actual bundle.
This is a universal unique identifier, the purpose of it is so that TextMate can recognize items uniquely. This is mainly used to see what user items correspond to default items. For example if you delete the CSS bundle, rename the HTML bundle and delete the Convert to Entities command, it needs a way to gracefully keep this "change" even after you upgrade TextMate.
Bundles are kept in the subversion repository. If you have written a bundle that may have public interest you are encouraged to add it to this repository. Please write allan at this domain to get a username.

Bundle Requests
Bundles that users would like to see added.
- Microsoft Excel formulae: bad enough editing a complex nested formula in the formula bar or cell popup with no indents or line breaks in the current version that limits them to 255 chars; but Excel 2007 will nix practically all formulae limits... but with the same lame editor. An external editor that colors, indents, enforces bracket pairs, etc..., and saves formulae outside Excel for later edits, and removes white space and line breaks for copy/pasting to the Excel formula bar or cell edit popup would be an excellent bundle, I think.
- A Note or Outlining Bundle that does things like auto inserting bullets for outlining and collapsing of parts of the outline structure. This could be very useful when taking notes in Computer Science Classes because similarly to how embedded CSS in HTML uses the CSS scope, you could include C tags or whatever to be able to insert code into notes. - Josh Monroe

A bundle is a collection of macros, commands, snippets, drag commands, templates, and syntaxes.
For example if you delete the CSS bundle, rename the HTML bundle and delete the Convert to Entities command, it needs a way to gracefully keep this “change” even after you upgrade TextMate.
Bundles are kept in the subversion repository. If you have written a bundle that may have public interest you are encouraged to add it to this repository. Please write allan at this domain to get a username.
Instructions for anonymous subversion checkout.
There will be a web-interface to browse the bundles shortly.

If you create a bundle and would like others to know about it, please add it to the list below.
To allow for an automated system that keeps track of bundles in the future, please follow the rules outlined below the list when you add new bundles.
Change of plans: Bundles are kept in the subversion repository. If you have written a bundle that may have public interest you are encouraged to add it to this repository. Please write allan at this domain to get a username.

Template Description
- Name
- The name of the bundle w/o the “.tmbundle” extension.
- Author
- Your name. Do make it a link to your profile page if you have one (the name used for distribution purposes will be the title of the link).
- Your email address, but feel free to use “(at)” instead of “@” and “(dot)” or “*” instead of “.”. E.g.
allan (at) macromates * com(this to avoid unnecessary spam). - Version
- Version number. Recommended format: Major.Minor.
- Date
- The date the bundle was last updated in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format using GMT as timezone. The first time you add a bundle to this wiki, use the current date and time.
- URL
- URL that points to a tgz or zip archive containing as the single file the actual bundle. If you need to include a readme or similar, place it inside the actual bundle.
- Contains
- A comma separated list of what the bundle contains (Snippets, Commands, Macros, Syntaxes, DragCommands, or Templates).
- Description
- A short description of the bundle.
Parsing of the bundle description file will stop at the first line which doesn't contain a colon (or end of file). It's suggested that you place a separator (----) below the fields. Below this line you can then add whatever you want, e.g. release notes or users of a given bundle can put their feedback there.
