- Answer:** There seems to be a problem with the OS function we use to copy the downloaded version over the existing one. Our guess is that it hits one out of 1,000 and started around 10.5.3 — we haven’t written any replacement function for this yet, but may do.
For now you’ll have to re-download TextMate. It is highly unlikely the problem will happen again, if you retry the auto-updater (at least we haven’t heard of any reproducibility with this bug).
